eBay said in its November 2, 2022 quarterly report that it had announced on-demand payouts to sellers’ debit cards within 30 minutes or less, for a fee. That offer changes delivery speed. Earlier bank-payout instructions let sellers ask for their money before a scheduled payout, but still allowed one to three business days for bank processing. [S1][S3]
The April 2022 seller update described a rollout of early bank payouts for sellers on weekly, biweekly or monthly schedules. It allowed requests for all or part of their available funds before the next scheduled payout. For a merchant needing some cash ahead of that date, the partial-withdrawal option meant the rest of the available balance could stay put. The instructions concerned available funds, not an assurance that every new sale could immediately be withdrawn. [S3]
To request the bank payout, sellers opened the Payments tab in Seller Hub, selected Request Payout beside the available balance, chose an amount and selected Send my money now. That last button did not remove the bank’s processing time. The instructions said eBay would send the funds after confirming the request, with the money typically available in the bank account in one to three business days. [S3]
The November report’s faster debit-card option therefore addresses a different wait. Its payout description does not specify the fee amount, eligible cards or geographic coverage, and the 30-minute timing is eBay’s stated service description. A merchant deciding whether to pay for speed would still need the applicable fee and eligibility terms; this announcement does not supply them. [S1][S3]
