The U.S. Small Business Administration marked the Small Business Digital Alliance’s first anniversary on March 1, 2023. The alliance, co-sponsored with Business Forward, offers digital resources and training intended to help small firms improve their online presence, reach customers and strengthen operations. The SBA said that since launching in March 2022, the initiative had reached more than 15 million small businesses and entrepreneurs through programming, events and digital content. It also reported partnerships with 15 companies and 40 local organizations, which together provided more than 300 free digital tools. The alliance had organized 13 regional events and virtual trainings and four national webinars. [story-s1]
For the anniversary, the group described further work including reports on small-business conditions and digital tools, thought leadership, and regional events. Those figures document the alliance’s reported activity and planned agenda; the release does not establish that these inputs caused revenue growth or other outcomes for participating firms. That distinction matters when judging a support program: reach and resources are useful operational measures, but they are not the same as demonstrated impact. For operators, the practical takeaway is to treat the directory of tools as an entry point: owners still need to choose resources that fit their workflow, check any eligibility or service terms, and measure whether adoption solves a concrete operating problem. The announcement itself makes the offer visible, but leaves those firm-level decisions and results to each business. [story-s1]
