SBA said Boots to Business had graduated its 200,000th participant, marking 11 years of its entrepreneurship training for military-connected people. The program is part of the Defense Department’s Transition Assistance Program; its Reboot version serves veterans, Guard and Reserve members, and military spouses without installation access. The milestone trainee attended a class at Fort Leavenworth on January 16, 2024, the agency said. SBA’s count also includes participants in the Defense Department’s online TAP learning system and the Military Spouse Pathway to Business course, launched in July 2023, so the figure spans several delivery channels rather than one classroom program. The release also said the separate Boots to Business Revenue Readiness program graduated its 3,000th trainee in November 2023. The six-week offering, hosted by Mississippi State University, helps participants develop business plans. Across B2B and Reboot, more than 1,200 classes were offered in person and virtually during fiscal 2023; SBA said the curriculum was updated that year as well. [story-s1]
